Adoption of Haven

Haven was born on 9th March 2019 at Fleecehaven, a somewhat unexpected arrival. Her mother, Lilly, had joined the flock a few months earlier after her owner could no longer care for her. Shortly after arriving, it was discovered that Lilly was pregnant. Thankfully, she was in good health, and with close monitoring and careful preparation, we provided a safe space for her to lamb.

Haven’s birth was difficult—she was breech, and Lilly required assistance. The tiny lamb needed urgent care and initially struggled to survive. She was very small and frail, and Lilly would not allow her to suckle, so we fed her ewe replacement milk via a stomach tube before she eventually learned to drink from a bottle and from Lilly herself. Her early challenges also affected her mobility and coordination, likely due to the traumatic birth.

Named Haven by Lilly’s former owner in gratitude to the sanctuary, she gradually thrived and became a beloved part of Fleecehaven. Now a healthy, happy young ewe, she remains inseparable from Lilly, and together they enjoy the safety and love of their forever home.

• A framed photo of your sheep.
• A copy our our latest newsletter and the option to subscribe to further newsletters
• Your sheep’s biography, with more photos.
• You will be enrolled as a member of our charity and be free to visit Fleecehaven to visit your sheep and the rest of the Fleecehaven flock.
• Free postage of your adoption pack (additional charge of £5.00 for packs delivered outside the UK).
• Fleecehaven is entirely run by volunteers; no salaries are paid so your money goes directly to looking after Fleecehaven’s animals. How good is that!
• To adopt Haven click on Add to Basket. When you checkout you’ll be asked for further information so we can customise the adoption pack for you.
• You can add other items from the Fleecehaven shop to your order for delivery at the same time.

• Your adoption can be set to start at a specific date, such as a birthday, anniversary or Christmas and we can include a message, such as birthday greetings on your certificate.
• Please note that it can take up to two weeks to process your adoption pack so if you’d like your adoption got a special day then please try to allow us sufficient time.
