Blackberry was brought to Fleecehaven where she was diagnosed with CCN, a severe brain disease. She now enjoys life as part of the Fleecehaven flock, spending time grazing out in the fields or chilling out in the yard with our older boys and girls.
Description
Blackberry was brought to Fleecehaven by a lady who had found her in a field, alone and unable to move. After unsuccessfully trying to find her owner she was brought to Fleecehaven where she was diagnosed with CCN, a severe brain disease and was very malnourished and dehydrated. She was immediately started on a course of vitamin B1 injections.
She was initially unable to use her front legs, so was propped her up with straw bales and moved around in a harness to ensure that she didn’t get pressure sores. Luckily Blackberry had a good appetite and a strong, fighting spirit and a few weeks she started to take her first wobbly, unaided steps.
Blackberry now enjoys life as part of the Fleecehaven flock and is a very sweet, albeit quite timid girl. She loves spending time grazing out in the fields but is equally happy chilling out in the yard with our older boys and girls.
